A Tulip’s Beauty

Hello to you, Kia with you today.  I have a spring card to share, with the beautiful weather we have been having, all I can think about is spring and colours.

I used Art Neko’s Framed Tulip for my card, along with the Tulip with Monogram T sentiment.  For my background I stamped the sentiment stamp several times and heat embossed using clear embossing powder on the pale pink cardstock.  I stamped the tulip by colouring it with Distress Markers and spritzing with water before stamping.  I added a bit more colour by adding a deeper pink to the stamp and spritzed again before stamping. There is a frame as part of this stamp, but I cut it off  my piece only because I wanted a smaller image. I went around the image piece with the Citron marker that I coloured the leaf with to give it separation from the pink cardstock, then attached it to the card on foam strips.  And, me being me, I added sequins … they are like the sunshine on a cloudy day for me.

This is a close up view showing the details of the tulip.  I wanted my tulip to be white with the pink, but I could also paint in the white areas with a coordinating colour for a different look.

Thank you for joining us here at Art Neko Blog today. I hope you enjoy this card today and I look forward to seeing you next time.

What a fabulous image, Kia – perfect for Spring. I really like the way you left the white in the flowers. And that embossed background with the Tulip monogram is just super.

Wow, another gorgeous card using the tulip. It looks pretty in pink, too.
