Marbled Japanese Hanging Lanterns

Hello Everyone – Chrissy D here using the beautiful Japanese Hanging Lanterns and Thank you stamps from Art Neko. Starting with the marbled background, I used the long forgotten technique (by me), the shaving cream technique.

I used water based fig, rose and pink ink refills and placed drops in the shaving cream and created a swirly pattern. I gently placed the white cardstock onto the marbled shaving cream allowing the ink to penetrate the paper. Scraping the shaving cream off, I set aside and allowed it to dry for a bit.

The cardstock I used felt a little “waxy” after I used the shaving cream technique. I wiped it with a cloth to clean up the waxy feeling. Once dry, I inked the Japanese Hanging Lanterns and the Thank you¬† stamps using fig and Rose ink pads and stamped the image twice on the cardstock. The ink looked wet, so I sprinkled clear embossing powder on the images and heat embossed the text and the images.

To complete the project, I added 3 magenta sequins and mounted the marbled cardstock on the rose cardstock. I just love these lanterns, the flourishes are so pretty! I hope you like my project too! Thank you for stopping by and looking.
