Happy Birthday

Hello there, it is Hetty with a birthday card idea for you. I made this card also for a color challenge (all details on my Craftchaos Blog). The background is made with the Forget Me Not  stamp. I stamped it with versamark ink on white paper and embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then I took red ink and a blending tool and colored the background red. With a soft cloth I polished the paper and take a way the red ink from the flowers. The embossing powder works as a resist.

On a seperate piece of paper I stamped the Love Birds with black ink and the birthday sentiment underneath. Then I cut it freely with scissors, glued it to black paper and cut it out again with a border. After adding the black ribbon to the border the birds were added on top with foam tape. Thank you for looking and i hope you all have a creative day!

Happy Year of the Rooster

Hello, Hetty here again and I have another Rooster card for you. As the New Year is very near, you might need a quick card and i share with you how to do this. I use the Year of the Rooster stamp and a rooster charm. For the background you need an acrylic block, red ink, water and aquarel paper.

This is what you do: take your acryl block and add red ink direct on this block. Than spritz a little water on the ink. Put the block on the table with the inkside towards you. Now take the paper and lay it on top of the block. Rup with your hand on top of the paper, to get all the ink on the paper. Carefully lift the paper off the block and you will see the red ink on the paper. Every time you do this, you will have a different, but quick background. Now take the rooster stamp and with black ink stamp it randomly on the card. Add the sentiment and spritz some black drops to make the background a little more interesting. The brass rooster is added with a piece of foam tape.

On my Craftchaos Blog you can see the technique with a few pictures and another sample. Wishing you all a wonderful celebration and Happy Year of the Rooster!

Chinese New Year: Rooster

rooster for chinese new year

Hello Hetty here with a card for Chinese New Year that will be the Year of the Rooster, so here some inspiration with the stamp of the rooster that you can find here. This card looks complicated, but I can assure you it is not. I have some pictures on my Craftchaos Blog. This is how it works: first you stamp the background. Stamps some roosters with versamark and emboss them with white embossing powder. Take red and orange ink and color the paper with a blending tool. The white embossing powder works as a resist. Then I stamped the words Year of the Rooster (that comes with the rooster stamp) at random in black. A few drops of water and the background is finished.

For the red circle i stamped the rooster in black and colored him with pencil. After adding some red/white twine around the card I added the circle with foam tape on top. The Happy New Year sentiment is from the Holiday Greetings and after stamping it, I cut it apart and added it to the card like the rooster called it out.

I hope you will visit my blog too and besides seeing the tutorial, there is an ather card with the rooster. Thank you for looking and have a creative day!

Paper Lanterns for the New Year

Hello. Hetty here and I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with your loved ones. Now we are only  a few days away from the New Year, so i had to come up with a new year card for you. I made these paper lanterns with the snowflake background stamp.

You find a complete picture tutorial on my Craftchaos Blog, here I will explain a little too. First I stamped  the image with versamark and embossed it with white embossing powder. The embossed flakes work as a resisit and when I colored the paper with blue distress ink, the snowflakes were popping up. Then I cut out the lanterns with a circle and an oval die. The shapes where run through a crimper and little strips of paper where added on top and bottom of the shapes. The tassels I had in my stash and where ready made and just perfect for my card. The background of the card is a now embossing folder from Stampin Up! and the sentiment for the New Year can be found here as Holiday Greetings.

Leaves me to wish you all a very Healthy, Energetic, Peaceful, Loving and Creative New Year!

Whimsical Snowman

Hello, it is Hetty here with a snowman card.

I started with making the background with an embossingfolder. This one is called Brick Wall. I added two different colors of blue to the insside of the folder, before adding the paper. Then I ran it through the bigshot and afterwards i sprayed some mica silver spray on it. Next I stamped the whimsical snowman on a new piece of white cardstock and colored the image with pencil. When finished the image is cut out and fastned to the background with a little spiral, so it wobbles. I hope you will hop over to my personal craftchaos blog and see how it is done and a little video. It takes up to much room here. The Season’s Greeting was stamped with black ink and taped to the background and 2 shiny gemstones were added for a festive look of the card.

Thank you for looking and have a creative day!

Happy Holidays

Hetty here with a Holiday card to wish you all Happy Holidays and hope you all have a wonderful time with your family and friends. I want to tell you a little how I made this card with the skating reindeer and the Christmas text background stamp.hetty_an_tutorial2

On the left you see how the background stamp was stamped on the card with the misti tool. The advantage of this tool is that you can restamp your image on the same spot. Starting with the red color first and next finishing the words with a green inkpad.

The same inkpads were used to color the reindeer with an extra brown pad. Next the reindeer was cut out and added to the card with foam tape.

I also decorated the inside of the card with the same reindeer stamp. The sentiment can be found here. I hope I have given you some ideas for your last minute Holiday cards.

Merry Christmas !

Children

art-neko_hetty_girl

Hello! Hetty here and wishing you all a very Happy Thanksgiving. As I did not have any special Thanksgiving images, I thought I make this card with children. The family is important on this holiday and children always make it even more festive. The image of the boy came on a little bag that Annette has put into my package. So i cut it and used it in the baclkground of the card. The little girl is from a sheet called Koi and Asian Women. I colored it with pencil and added 3 little gemstones. The border is also from the little red bags. I can always make this into a children’s birthday card or for a new born.

Wishing you all a very happy and special celebration!

Panda Thank You

art-neko_hetty_panda

Hello Stampers! Hetty here with a thank you card. As we do not celebrate Thanksgiving in The Netherlands, I wanted to make something related to this. I see all these post by people telling every day what they are thankful for. Well, I am thankful for being on this design team and able tho use Annette’s wonderful stamps. So thank you Annette for having me! I love using your wonderful stamps. As a panda is always eating lots of bamboo, I thought this was as close to Thanksgiving as I could get.

For my card, I colored the background with distress ink and on top I used a stencil. I have more detailed pictures on my Craftchaos Blog for you. After I finished the background the Walking Panda stamp was stamped once on the background and twice on another piece of white cardstock. So I cut the panda’s and used foam tape to add this to the panda that was already stamped on the background. The Thank You stamp was stamped on a piece of white cardstock and decorated with the same bamboo stencil. For decoration I added 2 bling gemstones.

Thank you for looking and wishing you all a blessed Thanksgiving with your family and friends.

Wedding Anniversary

Wedding Anniversary

Hello Hetty here, sharing a wedding anniversary card with you that I made for a friend. This card is not a normal card, but called a box frame card.I made them before and have a tutorial on my own Craftchaos Blog that you can find here.

The images I used to make this card are The Embrace, and the flowers are on a sheet called Fun and Japanese Vintage images. Inside the box I stamped the couple with black ink and colored it with pencils. Then around the couple various flowers are stamped and cut out and taped down with foam tape. In the heart of the flowers sticky pearls (red) and gemstones are added. Also the girl has some jewels in her hair.

Here you see how this box card can stand up. Inside you can add your writing. It is a 6 x 6 inch frame. On the frame there are punched out flowers and the same from inside the frame. The Best day sentiment can be found here. The leaves are made with a sizzix die and on top you find a golden ribbon. More glittery gemstones in the heart of the flowers. Thank you for looking and have a creative day!

Paper Hugs, Hetty
