Golden Leaves of Happiness

Good morning everyone! Kia here with a card to share. When I sat down to make this card I was looking at the Polyester Fabric Papers from Art Neko. I wanted to make a Birthday card using the papers so I thought I would make it and share it with all of you.  I die cut the fabric paper along with some wax paper to get a clean cut.  I die a couple of layers for matting, one in white which is attached to the card base and the other in the metallic gold cardstock. I then die cut another piece of white cardstock the same size as the fabric paper and glued them together using Ranger Multi Media Glue. This keeps the white fabric paper looking clean and bright. I then attached that panel to the metallic gold piece and attached that to the base on foam squares.  The Double Happiness Symbol is cut in the metallic gold and attached on some foam dots, and of course I added a few gold sequins, giggles! I just love these papers, and there is a paper for any and all occasions. Thanks for stopping by today, I’ll see you next time.

Snowy Egrets at Nighttime

Snowy Egrets

Hello everyone, Kia here with you today. I would like to share with you my card featuring the Shoson Five Snowy Egrets with Wee Calligraphy.  I stamped the image on black cardstock and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  Once heat embossed I added some orange ink to the beaks and coloured the Egrets using white PanPastels. I didn’t want the birds stark white as this is at night … and my imagination pictures them this way. Giggles! I added a frame, attaching with foam strips, and added the Joy sentiment which I die cut using white glitter paper.  A few sequins in gold and silver finished my card. I like how it turned out, and hope you do as well. Thanks for visiting us here at Art Neko and I will see you next time.

Autumn Leaves

Autumn Leaves

Good morning everyone. I am sharing a fall card with you today. I tell everyone that this is my favourite time of year.  I love the cooler temperatures and the beautiful colours we are graced with by the changing leaves.  And, speaking of leaves, I used Leaf Background for my card today. I used my MISTI to help me centre the image on my die cut Fabriano Hot Press watercolour paper, so I would have a nice clean border, and stamped using Tim Holtz Distress Inks Seedless Preserves. I then coloured the leaves with various colours of Zig Brushes, including yellow, pinks, oranges and greens.  I then stamped the Autumn Sentiment from the 4 Seasons Kanji and English using the Seedless Preserves and heat embossed with clear embossing powder on a strip of 40 lb. Vellum.  I wanted matting, and originally thought just the lighter purple, but I liked the deeper purple added as well.  And of course, sequins in the autumn tones were added to finish my card.  I hope you enjoy this card today and thank you for visiting with Art Neko today.

Framed Bamboo

This is Framed Bamboo Poem with Bamboo Leaves. I really do love this stamp and really enjoyed making this card.  I wanted my Bamboo Leaves to be done in an olive green, but I wanted my frame and letters to be done in gold heat embossing.

To do this I positioned my stamp in my Misti and used Tim Holtz Crushed Olive Distress Ink to colour the leaves.  I have the mini cubes, so it made it easy to watch where I was stamping the ink.  I then spritzed the image with water before stamping on watercolour paper. After cleaning my stamp and used my embossing pen to ink up the frame and letters with embossing ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder.  To add another layer of framing I die cut my image using a stitched rectangle die, then matted with a thin border of the same green used in the image. To finish I added some bling by way of my signature sequins in the greens and golds.

I hope you enjoy this post today, and I look forward to seeing you next time.

Cherry Blossoms

Stylized Cherry Blossoms Hanging Over a Pond

Cherry Blossoms

Good morning everyone, Kia here today and I am sharing my Art Neko Stylized Cherry Blossoms Hanging Over a Pond image with you today.  Cherry Blossom Trees are so beautiful, especially when there is more than one.

I first stamped my image using Memento London Fog Ink. I took my time adding colour to the Cherry Blossom, doing so with Zig Brushes and a damp paint brush in order to control the amount of water. And, I tried to let it dry between colours, but I was getting ancy to see the finished tree. I painted the flowers with a light pink, then added Crimson Red to the centre of the flowers and touched it with my damp brush to allow it to spread. I added matting using the colours from the image and attached to my embossed background. I then printed the “beauty/beautiful” symbol out on my computer and went over it with my silver glitter pen several times, die cut and attached to the card front on foam dots.

Thank you for having a look today and I hope you enjoy this Stylized Cherry Blossom Over a Pond card.

Summer Grapes

Art Neko Grape Vine

Hello everyone, Kia here with today’s post.  I made this card using the Art Neko Grape Vine Frame and Summer Sentiment Stamp. I coloured the image with Prisma Pencils and Zig Brushes and set the frame inside embossed frames, and matted the background with the purple cardstock. I added a bit of ribbon and my signature sequins to finish. I am going to give this card, along with a bottle of wine to a friend as a hostess gift. As I am writing this post I have another idea for this frame and I will come back with that post next week. Thank you for visiting us here at Art Neko.

Nature’s Beauty

Bird on gourd vines

Hello everyone, Kia here with a card to share.  I like to keep my cards CAS, Clean and Simple, which is what I have done with this card today.  I am working with Art Neko’s Framed Bird on Gourd Vine Stamp.  When I was reading up on Gourd Vines I found that there were both white and yellow flowers on these vines.  I very much like the look of the yellow flowers and read that these flowers are usually associated with the annual plants, which produce a rather bitter gourd.  But I loved the idea of the yellow flowers for my card, so yellow it was.  I thought using Zig brushes was best to use on this image, as they are perfect for detailed stamps, such as this stamp.  I did a couple of layers of colour and once finished, I added matting to my image using bazzill cardstock, picking colours that I used in the watercolour.  I then added some white Hemp Cording around the base.  I added another layer of white matting which I embossed to add more interest and attached the image to the left of the card on foam strips.  I hope you enjoy my card today and thank you for visiting with us.  I look forward to seeing you next time.
