Bold Birds

Hello Everyone! Today, I decided to try something different with the State Birds stamp set. I was looking around and thought I would challenge myself to an Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoast Stampers. The challenge I decided upon was napkins. Yep. I decided to live dangerously, I know!

This is the picture of the Inspiration piece I took from:

I decided to go with the Color combination AND the circular motion of the plate and floral design.

State Birds

I stamped the State Birds stamp set¬† FIVE times on White card stock. I used sponge daubers and a bold yellow and Navy ink to add the shading. I cut those and matted them on Navy Cardstock. I then cut a gold ring using a circle cutter using my Circle Nestibilities. I sponged the edges and then alternating space, I looped it through and under alternating rectangles. I then had a Words die cut and cut out the Thanks to finish all of the pieces of the card front and matted it on Black card stock. The base of the card stock measures 5″ x 7″ folded (10″x7″ before it is folded), so I will need a n A7 size envelope.

To finish the card, I cut out the 5th image of the bird and mounted it on top of the circle, using some pop dots to create some dimension with the bird.

Thank you for taking the time to look!

The Inspiration Challenge is my favourite challenge to “play” in and I often refer to those when making cards. This is beautifully inspired with the blues and yellows and the round of the plate also captured – wonderfully done Chrissy.

What a lovely colour combination – but I especially love the way you were inspired by the circle of the plate and incorporated that into your design. It creates a wonderful perch for the bird.
