Hi there! Leah here with you today and I am sharing a fun spring card. Spring is my favorite time of year and I love flowers regardless of the season so I really enjoyed creating this one!

I cut a piece of watercolor paper and stamped the gorgeous Framed Tulip in Versafine Onyx Black ink. That ink is great for watercoloring, it won’t bleed at all! I then stamped the lovely sentiment stamp, Happiness is to hold flowers in both hands. I used my Tombow markers to color the image. I started with the backgound using a really pale blue and then moved to the flower. In general I find it’s best to start with your background. For the tulip I started with a peachy color and layered on a darker red and then used a slightly wet brush to blend them together. The leaf was done in the same way with a dark green and a light green.

To finish it I used some jute twine and tied a bow and then added a lovely tiny white paper rose from B.Muse. Some machine stitching and patterned paper brought it all together. I hope you find some happiness today! Thanks for joining me.

This is beautiful, Leah! I love your watercoloring and that stitching around the edges. I agree with Sabrina – that jute twine really does give this a great “garden” touch.
