You make a great pear

Hello Everyone – Happy Monday! Can you believe July is over already? Today I am sharing a card using the Medium Bold Silhouette Pear with Leaves stamped in Versamark ink on white cardstock. Using stamping pastels and sponge swabs, I mixed a combination of green, yellow and rust color to create the realistic look of a pear. It has been ages since I have used my stamping pastels and I am so pleased I chose to grab them for this card.

As I was looking through the store at Art Neko, I noticed they have a very nice sable brush that would work great with your chalks/ pastels. Less waste and you would have the ability to control the color application along with blend it well.

The background paper is a mixture of sprays and ink. Holly Brown sent me a bag of scraps and treasures of backgrounds she created, so I am using them on my cards. 🙂 I adhered the sprayed cardstock on an angle, on top of green cardstock and really liked how it looked. Using scissors, I trimmed the extra cardstock from the edges where it hung over.

Using black ink, I stamped the sentiment on the paper. I thought the text, “You make a Great pear” is so fun! I then adhered the image on green cardstock and added them to the card with dimensionals to pop it up. Using a writing tip marker, I added dots along the layered cardstock. To complete the card, I used a mini glue dot to add one dew drop.

I hope you enjoyed my project! Stop on by later this week to see what Holly and Sabrina have in store for you!

Wow, great work with the pastels! They really do give a painterly look to that beautiful pear. I like the angled layout, too.
