No Ordinary Cats

I am excited to be sharing my first post on the Art Neko Blog today. My name is Judy and I am a dog lover. I have an 8 year old rescue dog named Fiona. But — my daughter has a cat, and I am learning to love and appreciate them. We also have six neighborhood cats that take advantage of our sunny front porch and deck, and they are sweet too. And none of them are ordinary!

For my card today I chose NO ORDINARY CATS as my image for my main tag. I made a watercolor background with distress inks and then stamped my image in VersaFine Onyx Black, using a MISTI to re-stamp until I got the image as dark as I wanted. Watercolor paper has texture, and it sometimes takes several impressions to fill in that texture. This cute image also comes in a sheet with some other amazing cat images and sentiments.img_1065a I layered my main tag with a die cut tag for interest, and added some fun ribbons and fibers to the tops of the tags, along with some mulberry flowers. I think my daughter will like this card!

A really cute card, Judy. I love the pink and black combo. I love dogs, too, but a cat adopted us a few years ago and we found cats are nice to have around also.

So true that no cats are ordinary. Laughing at the local cats who come and visit you – we once had a rather large tabby who, to my knowledge, was fed by at least two of our neighbours as well as very well by us. Love your pink and black colour scheme and the wonderful watercolour background on the tag.

These papers are so pretty. I love seeing what others create because it shows the diversity of the images and images I may have missed in my shopping. Lovely card!
