Shimmery Strips of Happiness

Hi folks, it’s Holly posting today.  I’m sharing this sparkly card that I created with some leftover Dabbed Shimmers technique strips and a double happiness kanji stamp.  The strips in the background are the pieces left over from another project, and I could not bear to throw them away.  They are so pretty and shimmery.  To make these, I mixed some iridescent medium with distress ink (Peacock Feathers and Shaded Lilac) and dabbed them onto cardstock with a sponge.  No two pieces are alike, and it’s fun to see how they turn out.

I arranged the strips horizontally and adhered them to a white card.  Then I stamped the butterfly and the circle with Shaded Lilac distress ink onto white cardstock.  Both of the stamps are from the A407 Spring in Paris sheet at Art Neko.  After carefully trimming them out, I affixed them to my card with foam tape.

Would you like to see a tutorial on how to create the dabbed shimmers background?  Let me know in the comments, and if there is some interest, I’ll film a step by step tutorial for you.  🙂

Yum Holly – love the shimmery look too, especially beautiful in the blues.

How beautiful – I can just imagine how shimmery it must be in real life. No wonder you didn’t want to waste any of the pieces. It’s a gorgeous monochromatic card.
