Watercolored Bamboo

Watercolour Bamboo

Watercolor Bamboo by Kia Gibson Clapper

Hello everyone,

Kia with you today to share this beautiful stamp called Bamboo and Bird Sumi-e.  I wanted to do something different today, so I stamped my image with Peeled Paint and spritzed with water. Using my aqua brush I pulled the colour, and added a lighter green called Shabby Shutters to the image.  Once dry, I outlined the image with Mustard Seed on the right side and dried again, then adding the turquoise and pulling it toward the edges, where it gets lighter. I am happy with the look and thought it would make a great birthday card, so I stamped a birthday greeting and added my trademark sequins to finish. I hope you have enjoyed this card, and I will see you next time. Thank you for visiting Art Neko today.

Meadowlark and Holly

Hello Everyone! While here in Wisconsin we do not have snow yet, with the hustle and bustle of the Holiday season and everyone preparing and decking their homes for the Christmas season. Today’s card uses the beautiful images from the State Birds sets. From this selection of images you can choose a beautiful image to create your projects for ANY season!

On this project, I used the Meadowlark and Holly image and stamped it using Black Memento Ink on White Smooth cardstock. I colored the image using Prismacolor Pencils. Once colored, I adhered the image to green cardstock and then attached it to White Smooth cardstock as the base.

I then stamped “my warmest thanks” from the image, My Warmest Thanks, Daisy Bookmark  in black Memento ink. To add the finishing touches, I added a sequin using a mini glue dot to adhere it to the card.

Thank you for stopping by today! Have a wonderful week!

Napkin Art

hs_artneko_birds_on_cherry_

Hello, Hetty here with a  card for today with a napkin background. It is the technique of the month in the Art Neko stamp group. I took one of my napkins and only used one layer. I glued it to a piece of white cardstock. Then I embossed it and added some fossilized amber on the raised parts. For the center part i stamped 2 images on top of each other. First a script stamp in the fossilized amber distres ink and on top the Birds on a Blossom Branchhs_artneko_birds_on_flowery_cherry

In the center of the flowers  there are some sticky gemstones. I have not yet added a sentiment for this card can be used for all kind of occasions.

Thank you for looking and until next time. Have a creative day.

Bold Birds

Hello Everyone! Today, I decided to try something different with the State Birds stamp set. I was looking around and thought I would challenge myself to an Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoast Stampers. The challenge I decided upon was napkins. Yep. I decided to live dangerously, I know!

This is the picture of the Inspiration piece I took from:

I decided to go with the Color combination AND the circular motion of the plate and floral design.

State Birds

I stamped the State Birds stamp set  FIVE times on White card stock. I used sponge daubers and a bold yellow and Navy ink to add the shading. I cut those and matted them on Navy Cardstock. I then cut a gold ring using a circle cutter using my Circle Nestibilities. I sponged the edges and then alternating space, I looped it through and under alternating rectangles. I then had a Words die cut and cut out the Thanks to finish all of the pieces of the card front and matted it on Black card stock. The base of the card stock measures 5″ x 7″ folded (10″x7″ before it is folded), so I will need a n A7 size envelope.

To finish the card, I cut out the 5th image of the bird and mounted it on top of the circle, using some pop dots to create some dimension with the bird.

Thank you for taking the time to look!
