Flower cards are always great to have on hand, you can use them for any occasion. As I had this background paper laying on my table, I think it was just perfect to use for this stamp. I used the cherry blossom stamp, that you find here and stamped it in black on the background paper. Let me tell you a little about that paper….well it is not really paper it is yupo. I colored it with alcohol ink and this makes such wonderful surprising backgrounds.

For coloring I used a white and a pink gel pen.

Here you see the finished coloring close up. the flowers look so real..

The sentiment is HERE and just stamped in black ink and the corners are cut with a punch. I know it is a different flower but i just love the sentiment and it goes great with the water. Thank you for looking and have a creative day!

Spring is around the corner

Hello! Hetty here and some of you know I live in The Netherlands, country of the bulbs, All around me the bulbs are popping their heads out of the ground and looking so festive.

So I choose this Iris stamp for my card today. If you are not a coloring person, this is a perfect stamp. Only a little coloring on the flower with aquarel pencils. With a strip of beautiful paper of a thousand wishes (great for birthday cards!) and a yellow paper behind the stamed image this card needs hardly anything else.

To make this card a little more bling, I added a few shiny sequins to this card. This image is great for quick cards. Hope you are inspired and get your fingers inky too. Have a wonderful creative day!

Happy Year of the Rooster

Hello, Hetty here again and I have another Rooster card for you. As the New Year is very near, you might need a quick card and i share with you how to do this. I use the Year of the Rooster stamp and a rooster charm. For the background you need an acrylic block, red ink, water and aquarel paper.

This is what you do: take your acryl block and add red ink direct on this block. Than spritz a little water on the ink. Put the block on the table with the inkside towards you. Now take the paper and lay it on top of the block. Rup with your hand on top of the paper, to get all the ink on the paper. Carefully lift the paper off the block and you will see the red ink on the paper. Every time you do this, you will have a different, but quick background. Now take the rooster stamp and with black ink stamp it randomly on the card. Add the sentiment and spritz some black drops to make the background a little more interesting. The brass rooster is added with a piece of foam tape.

On my Craftchaos Blog you can see the technique with a few pictures and another sample. Wishing you all a wonderful celebration and Happy Year of the Rooster!

Paper Lanterns for the New Year

Hello. Hetty here and I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with your loved ones. Now we are only  a few days away from the New Year, so i had to come up with a new year card for you. I made these paper lanterns with the snowflake background stamp.

You find a complete picture tutorial on my Craftchaos Blog, here I will explain a little too. First I stamped  the image with versamark and embossed it with white embossing powder. The embossed flakes work as a resisit and when I colored the paper with blue distress ink, the snowflakes were popping up. Then I cut out the lanterns with a circle and an oval die. The shapes where run through a crimper and little strips of paper where added on top and bottom of the shapes. The tassels I had in my stash and where ready made and just perfect for my card. The background of the card is a now embossing folder from Stampin Up! and the sentiment for the New Year can be found here as Holiday Greetings.

Leaves me to wish you all a very Healthy, Energetic, Peaceful, Loving and Creative New Year!

Hello! Hetty here and wishing you all a very Happy Thanksgiving. As I did not have any special Thanksgiving images, I thought I make this card with children. The family is important on this holiday and children always make it even more festive. The image of the boy came on a little bag that Annette has put into my package. So i cut it and used it in the baclkground of the card. The little girl is from a sheet called Koi and Asian Women. I colored it with pencil and added 3 little gemstones. The border is also from the little red bags. I can always make this into a children’s birthday card or for a new born.

Wishing you all a very happy and special celebration!

Napkin Art

Hello, Hetty here with a  card for today with a napkin background. It is the technique of the month in the Art Neko stamp group. I took one of my napkins and only used one layer. I glued it to a piece of white cardstock. Then I embossed it and added some fossilized amber on the raised parts. For the center part i stamped 2 images on top of each other. First a script stamp in the fossilized amber distres ink and on top the Birds on a Blossom Branchhs_artneko_birds_on_flowery_cherry

In the center of the flowers  there are some sticky gemstones. I have not yet added a sentiment for this card can be used for all kind of occasions.

Thank you for looking and until next time. Have a creative day.
