Grape celebration

For today’s card I have been playing with the Asian Woman Picking Grapes stamp. For the background  I used a technique called Shaped Stencil Technique by the Technique Junkies. You find the tutorial HERE.

The card is started with making the stencil shaped background, before adding the stamp. For that I used my misti, so to be sure that the stamped image would come out right. Then I colored the Asian Woman with pencil and added a sentiment that is cut out with a thinlit. I cut it out twice: one black and one in the color of the base of the card. Thanks for looking, hope you like it. Have a creative day!

Purple Framed Flowers

Hi everyone!  It’s Holly posting today, and I’m sharing this sweet Purple Framed Flowers card with you.  A friend of mine hurt her back last week. so I popped this card in the mail to her as a virtual hug.

I started by stamping this beautiful framed flower (A408 Geishas and Framed Flowers sheet) with a gray ink onto some white cardstock.  I wanted a softer look, so I used gray ink instead of black.  The image was then colored with Polychromos pencils.  It’s hard to see, but the background between the flowers and the frame is colored with a pale yellow pencil.  I added some White Blizzard Glitter Drops (Nuvo) to the center of the open flower on the left.  Gotta love that glitter!  🙂

I cut out the colored piece and adhered it to a white card with some foam tape.  Some Lilac twine wrapped around the top and tied with a bow completes this clean and simple card.

Check out the gorgeous stamps on the A408 Geishas and Framed Flowers sheet.  The flowers and the geishas are beautiful, and the sentiments are wonderful.  I can’t wait to color up the rest of these stamps!

Meadowlark and Holly

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas day if you celebrate and a great day even if you don’t. With so much to be thankful for a nice wintery card is the perfect way to say thanks.

This gorgeous image is called Meadowlark and Holly. I stamped it onto kraft cardstock and colored it with colored pencils. Kraft and colored cardstock were just meant to go together. The white background is a white pencil and I love the softness it lends to the overall image.

Some simple stitching and few sequins are all this pretty bird need. Another great, flat card to send off to someone to say thanks!

Quilted Reindeer

Hello! December is well on it’s way marching to Christmas! Today I have a fun card to share with you that would be easy to mail. I especially like those kind this time of year.

I used the super cute image called Quilted Reindeer and colored it with colored pencils. I then trimmed it out and mounted it to a piece of cardstock and used a white gelly roll pen to give the impression of snow. I went for a sketchy kind of look since the reindeer is sweet and whimsical.

Some machine stitching and twine layered with a bit of Christmasy patterned paper finish my card. I hope you are inspired to make a few more Christmas cards to send out. It’s not too late!
