Altered gelli print index card

geisha on a field of flowers

Hey Everyone! Good Monday to you. Lori here with you today I wanted to share this altered gelli print index card I created.

To create this altered gelli print index card I printed from my computer the Japanese proverb “No road is too long in the company of a friend”. I made sure it was printed to the far left and bottom of the gelli print. The printer I used is a laser printer so The ink will not smear.

After cutting out the appropriate size rectangle of 3X5 inch so it would fit on an index card I stamped Geisha on a field of flowers with Fun Stampers Journey black ink using a stamping tool. I stamped it to the far right of the 3X5 inch gelli plate rectangle print. The ink I used to stamp the Geisha is an ink that is permanent and wont smear if you heat set it and that’s what I did, I used a heat tool to set the ink since the gelli print was a chalky type of surface and stamping on that type of surface can cause an ink not to set/dry properly.

With a die in the shape of bamboo branches I die cut seven bamboo branches which I then glued in a scattered pattern in the upper left corner of the stamped gelli plate rectangle.

I used a small punch to punch out three swirls from gold foiled card stock. I glued those three swirls in the middle of the stamped gelli plate rectangle.

With a strong adhesive I glued the stamped gelli plate rectangle onto a 3X5 index card making sure the lines of the index card faced outward.

My altered index card is completed and I can use the lines as a guide on the back to add whatever info I want. To see a video tutorial of this altered index card click HERE.

Thanks for stopping by have a great week!

Grape Celebration

For this card I used a fun background technique from Technique Junkies, and you can find the tutorial HERE. After I made the background, the panel was laid into the misty for stamping the image on the card with black ink. The stamped image is colored with pencil and the centiment is a die cut. Once in black and once in purple.

Thank you for looking and have a creative day!

Paper Pieced Dragon Geisha

Hi everyone, it’s Holly posting today.  I am sharing this paper pieced Dragon Geisha card to give you another way to use your washi papers.  I stamped this beautiful geisha from the A279 Oriental Dragons and Geisha sheet onto some white cardstock.  I then stamped it again right onto the beautiful red and gold washi paper.  The geisha on the white cardstock was colored with Copic markers first.  Then I carefully cut the robe out of the washi paper and glued it down on top of my colored geisha.  I used some small strips of the same washi paper to accent the left side of my card.

Pull out your washi papers and try paper piecing one of your Art Neko stamps with it.  It’s a fun and easy way to add texture and color to your stamping!

Geisha with thanks

Good morning to you … Kia here with you today. I would like to share this sweet Geisha with you.  She is from the Thanksgiving Japanese Kokeshi Geisha, but I think she can be used for many occasions, and in my case a thank you card. I coloured her using doCraft Markers, including the black of the hair and outline of the stamp. In doing so I was sure to get that black look I wanted. I used a piece of Silver Circles and Polyester Fabric Paper in the background which I framed for a nice clean look. I attached my Geisha to the card on foam dots, and stamped the thank you sentiment to finish. I think she is really sweet, and I hope you enjoy her. Thank you for dropping by today and I will see you next time.

Thanksgiving Japanese Kokeshi Geisha Tin

Thanksgiving Japanese Kokeshi Geisha

Hi Everyone! Chrissy D here and I was playing in my stamp room this week. I had SO MUCH fun creating this fun tin that Art Neko has! You can see all of the tins HERE. These tins make the most fun gifts! I used the Heart Shape Tins and thought it would make a great little Thank you gift for a friend.

To create this project, I wrapped some black and ribbon around the tin and used Tacky Tape to adhere it and the beautiful Red Tassels. Art Neko has a variety of gorgeous colors to create bookmarks or for other crafty creations! On the lid of the tin, there is a window, so to decorate that I used these FUN Red peel and Heart stickers. These are the perfect fun embellishment for your Valentine’s Day Projects (Or Anniversary, love, Wedding, Birthday, etc.)

To create the tag, I used the Circle Diecut and stamped the Thanksgiving Japanese Kokeshi Geisha in Black Memento Ink and colored her with my Copic Markers R29 and R20 for her cheeks and her bow. I stamped the Thank You from Whimsical and Kind Sayings in black memento ink and mounted it on Black Cardstock and fussy cut around it. Using Foam Dots I popped up the sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed my project. Thank you for stopping by!
