Hey Everyone! Good Monday to you. Lori here with you today I wanted to share this altered gelli print index card I created.
To create this altered gelli print index card I printed from my computer the Japanese proverb “No road is too long in the company of a friend”. I made sure it was printed to the far left and bottom of the gelli print. The printer I used is a laser printer so The ink will not smear.
After cutting out the appropriate size rectangle of 3X5 inch so it would fit on an index card I stamped Geisha on a field of flowers with Fun Stampers Journey black ink using a stamping tool. I stamped it to the far right of the 3X5 inch gelli plate rectangle print. The ink I used to stamp the Geisha is an ink that is permanent and wont smear if you heat set it and that’s what I did, I used a heat tool to set the ink since the gelli print was a chalky type of surface and stamping on that type of surface can cause an ink not to set/dry properly.
With a die in the shape of bamboo branches I die cut seven bamboo branches which I then glued in a scattered pattern in the upper left corner of the stamped gelli plate rectangle.
I used a small punch to punch out three swirls from gold foiled card stock. I glued those three swirls in the middle of the stamped gelli plate rectangle.
With a strong adhesive I glued the stamped gelli plate rectangle onto a 3X5 index card making sure the lines of the index card faced outward.
My altered index card is completed and I can use the lines as a guide on the back to add whatever info I want. To see a video tutorial of this altered index card click HERE.
Thanks for stopping by have a great week!
