Medallion of Flowers

Inspired by a color challeng I made this card from the left over part of watercolor paper I died with oxide inks directly from my craftsheet. I used tree colors: fossilized amber, spiced marmalade and worn lipstick.

After the coloring I used the Bold flower medallion in a bed of calligrapy stamp with versamark on the watercolor and embossed the image with silver embossing powder. I decorated the circle with three sticky pearls.

On the top and bottom of the card you see a pair of ginkgo leaves in matching colors as decoration. The card is mounted on silver paper and decorated with a pink organza ribbon before mounted on the pink card. Thank you for looking and have a creative day!

Grape Celebration

For this card I used a fun background technique from Technique Junkies, and you can find the tutorial HERE. After I made the background, the panel was laid into the misty for stamping the image on the card with black ink. The stamped image is colored with pencil and the centiment is a die cut. Once in black and once in purple.

Thank you for looking and have a creative day!

Sea Scenery

Hi Stampers,

Are you all having a wonderful Summer? I hope you do. As I guess some of you are enjoying the seaside and that is why I choose the Mermaids and Oceanlife stamps to make this card for you. I started the background of this card with Broken China Distress oxide ink. The ink was dabbed on my craft sheet and with the white paper pressed to it, you get a wonderful sea like background.

Next choosing a variety of stamps from the sheet and some darker blue ink, I stamped the images and colored a little with pencil. The sentiment was added in black. While I was busy I made two more ATC and I hope you come over to my Craftchaos Blog and see them there. Thanks again for looking and have a creative day!

Bookmark

Today I have made a bookmark for you. Bookmarks are such a fun gift for readers. I love reading too, so this one is in my book now. I used the “Butterfly and Flowers” rubber stamp. Now reading and coffee is the ultimate for me.

I stamped the bookmark in versamark and embossed the stamp with black embossing powder. For coloring I used the new distress oxide inks by tim Holtz. They are wonderful for coloring too. I used one of those water brushes and when you color it looks like watercoloring. Beautiful! You may wonder about the text. That is from one of the kanji characters. I just used the english text here. You can also write a wish or add someone’s name at that spot.

There are some lovely plastic sleeves for these bookmarks. This way they stay as beautiful as you made them and is also so much nicer for gifting. Thanks for looking and I am going to do some more reading now that I  have finished writing my post.

Father’s Day

When i was looking through my stamps to find something appropriate for Father’s Day, I came up with this idea to use the shells as decoration on  a man’s shirt. You find these stamps on the Japanese Marine Sheet2. I made a detailed picture tutorial on my Craftchaos Blog if you want to make one too. Here are a few more pictures:

This is a origami tie made out of a stamped piece of copy paper of 3 x 3 inch. The template for folding is also on my Craftchaos Blog.

Here you see the tie added to the shirt and orange brads used to hold the color of the shirt in place. You can add any sentiment that fits for Father’s Day of your choice. Hope this is a quick card idea for you in time to make for Sunday.

Thanks for looking and have a creative day!

Grape celebration

For today’s card I have been playing with the Asian Woman Picking Grapes stamp. For the background  I used a technique called Shaped Stencil Technique by the Technique Junkies. You find the tutorial HERE.

The card is started with making the stencil shaped background, before adding the stamp. For that I used my misti, so to be sure that the stamped image would come out right. Then I colored the Asian Woman with pencil and added a sentiment that is cut out with a thinlit. I cut it out twice: one black and one in the color of the base of the card. Thanks for looking, hope you like it. Have a creative day!

ATC’s for Mom

Today I created a serie of atc’s for Mother’s Day with some of the images from the teacups, the dragonfly medallion and the Chikanobu Collage Sheet 3. I cut them to the size of 2 x 3 inch so i could use them on the atc’s in combination with some other images. After mounting the iimages to the background href=”http://www.artneko.com/displayItem/A209-0008″>Oda Nobunaga Family Crest. All the stamping is embossed with black or gold embossing powder.

The letters that make MOM are die cuts from a Tim Holtz die and glued to the cards after I added a little ink all around each letter.

On my Craftchaos Blog you can see all the atc’s one by one and I have another cute little giftbox idea there.

Hoppe all you crafty moms have a wonderful Mother’s Day!

Flowers

Flower cards are always great to have on hand, you can use them for any occasion. As I had this background paper laying on my table, I think it was just perfect to use for this stamp. I used the cherry blossom stamp, that you find here and stamped it in black on the background paper. Let me tell you a little about that paper….well it is not really paper it is yupo. I colored it with alcohol ink and this makes such wonderful surprising backgrounds.

For coloring I used a white and a pink gel pen.

Here you see the finished coloring close up. the flowers look so real..

The sentiment is HERE and just stamped in black ink and the corners are cut with a punch. I know it is a different flower but i just love the sentiment and it goes great with the water. Thank you for looking and have a creative day!

Happy Easter

As it is nearEaster, I got my bunnies out to make a card for you to wish you all a very Happy Easter.

For my card I used the following stamps: sakura blossom circle frame, rabbit and joy sentiment stamp.

I started with stamping the blossom circle in versamark and embossed it with white embossing powder. After heathing this I took out orange and green dylussion spray ink ansd sprayed all over. The white embossing powder works as a resist. Inside the circle I stamped joy with black ink. The rabbits are stamped and colored seperately, cut out and added with a piece of foam tape. On the flowers a purple gemstone is added in the heart.

Thank you for looking and have a Blessed Easter.

Spring is here with lots of tulips

Hello, Hetty here again with some cute little cards.

Spring has arrived in my art room! Not outside though….too much rain and very heavy winds today. So it was a good day to start using my new distress oxide inks for these ATC’s. I used the tulip stamp set. For each card I used another color. After stamping the tulip. I covered it with a post it note image. Then I stamped with the same color the text behind it. If you want to see more detailed pictures, please hop over to my personal Craftchaos blog.

Now as for the gemstones, don’t they fit nicely and are the same color? Well, I used the same colors of distress markers to color the gemstones before I glued them to the card.

Thanks for looking and have a creative day!
