The Best Thing

HI Everyone – I am visiting Alabama this week and have limited supplies. I packed some cardstock, markers, twine some fabulous Art Neko Images, some sequins and adhesive… One of my favorite images from Art Neko is this Peacock Feather Background image. Art Neko has many gorgeous images with peacocks and other birds!

On my card today, I stamped the Peacock Feather Background in black memento ink. I then took a taupe, aqua, 3 shades of green markers and randomly sprinkled lines throughout the feathery image to avoid any specific pattern in the design. I then used my Grass Green Chameleon marker to color around the eye of the feather and added Blue and purple into the eye. I added stickles to the eye to add some sparkle.

I layered the colored Peacock Feather Background onto purple cardstock and added the beautiful paper,  Gold Butterflies on a Field of White  alongside of it. I then layered that peice onto blue cardstock.  I added a strip of blue cardstock and some purple sequins.

To finish the card, I stamped the sentiment The best thing about me is you using Black Memento ink. I wrapped blue twine around the sentiment and mounted it on the cardstock.

I hope you enjoyed my card today! If you haven’t been here in awhile, scroll back through a few posts to see the team’s AMAZING art work. So beautiful. They inspire me every week!

Wavy Valentine’s and Love

Hello everyone!  It’s Chrissy posting today!  I have a fun, easy and fast Valentine for you today!  To create this card, I used white and black cardstock. To create the wave, I drew a swerved line with a pencil and cut the wave on the face of card. In addition, I trimmed the edge and added some designer paper along the wave.  I stamped the Faux Postage and 4 Medallions image in Red ink.  Then I used a 1″ and 1 1/4″ circle punch. Once those circles were punched, I used a 1 1/4″ and 1 3/8″ circle punch, to add a layer of black cardstock.

After I adhered the images to the medallions to the image, I stamped the hearts and cut them out. Customers can buy the hearts that I used, from the stamp set called Valentines and Love. Using pop dots, I added them to the back of the hearts to give a boost on the card. Most of all, I love the way the red looks on the black and white! So Striking!

I kept the card clean and simple by adding some “faux” stitching with a white gel pen. While the gel pen dried, I used liquid adhesive to add the black and white polka dot ribbon.  Just one more finishing touch was needed and that was 2 black gems in the upper corner. In conclusion, this was such a FUN and EASY project!

Snoozing Mouse

As we kick off our New Year with day 2, I thought I would share this project showcasing our Snoozing Mouse in a teacup. We start off our year with new goals or dreams, how perfect is this DREAM word for our New Year!

On today’s card, I stamped the Snoozing Mouse in a Teacup and the DREAM word  in Brown Memento Ink. I wanted to create a project with pastels to offer a dreamy state for our little mouse. I colored him in using the Chameleon Markers muted with alcohol ink.

Once I finished coloring this cute mouse, I matted it on the dark brown cardstock. To create some dimension, I used popdots to give it a lift. I used a Peachy Pink, Saffron and dark brown cardstock. The saffron, I embossed in a Leaf dry embossing folder.

I stamped the Dream word stamp on a white piece of cardstock that I used a filigree banner die cut to create. The flowers were a Multi flower die and I used mini glue dots. To add some elegance, I addedPeel and Stick Pearls to finish this project off. I appreciate you stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my project! Thank you for looking!

Thanksgiving Japanese Kokeshi Geisha Tin

Thanksgiving Japanese Kokeshi Geisha

Hi Everyone! Chrissy D here and I was playing in my stamp room this week. I had SO MUCH fun creating this fun tin that Art Neko has! You can see all of the tins HERE. These tins make the most fun gifts! I used the Heart Shape Tins and thought it would make a great little Thank you gift for a friend.

To create this project, I wrapped some black and ribbon around the tin and used Tacky Tape to adhere it and the beautiful Red Tassels. Art Neko has a variety of gorgeous colors to create bookmarks or for other crafty creations! On the lid of the tin, there is a window, so to decorate that I used these FUN Red peel and Heart stickers. These are the perfect fun embellishment for your Valentine’s Day Projects (Or Anniversary, love, Wedding, Birthday, etc.)

To create the tag, I used the Circle Diecut and stamped the Thanksgiving Japanese Kokeshi Geisha in Black Memento Ink and colored her with my Copic Markers R29 and R20 for her cheeks and her bow. I stamped the Thank You from Whimsical and Kind Sayings in black memento ink and mounted it on Black Cardstock and fussy cut around it. Using Foam Dots I popped up the sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed my project. Thank you for stopping by!

Hello Art Neko Fans – I am taking a break from the beautiful Christmas cards you have been enjoying! I am curious, have you seen and used the beautiful papers available at Art Neko yet? The papers I used on this project is the Gold Leaf on Black paper. On this project, I used the paper to add a little extra something as an embellishment. Using a craft knife, I cut out the leaf and pulled it towards the front of the card…

I just love tigers. They often remind me of my grandmother who passed away a few years ago. She always had a way of mispronouncing different words… she would call Sconces, “scones”, the store Hobby Lobby, “Holly Lolly or even Holly hobby” and then we had Tigers, she would call them “Taggers.” It makes me smile to think about her.

When I saw all of the images that Art Neko has of Tigers,  my heart skipped a beat and if you enjoy tigers, yours will too! On my project today, I used the Tiger Mom with her Baby image and stamped it in Black Memento Ink. I then took several colors of orange, brown and yellow Prismacolor pencils and colored both tigers.I adhere my image and the black leafed paper to the  blue textured cardstock . To finish the card, I adhered gold sequins with mini glue dots.

I hope you enjoyed my project today! Thank you for stopping by!

Meadowlark and Holly

Hello Everyone! While here in Wisconsin we do not have snow yet, with the hustle and bustle of the Holiday season and everyone preparing and decking their homes for the Christmas season. Today’s card uses the beautiful images from the State Birds sets. From this selection of images you can choose a beautiful image to create your projects for ANY season!

On this project, I used the Meadowlark and Holly image and stamped it using Black Memento Ink on White Smooth cardstock. I colored the image using Prismacolor Pencils. Once colored, I adhered the image to green cardstock and then attached it to White Smooth cardstock as the base.

I then stamped “my warmest thanks” from the image, My Warmest Thanks, Daisy Bookmark  in black Memento ink. To add the finishing touches, I added a sequin using a mini glue dot to adhere it to the card.

Thank you for stopping by today! Have a wonderful week!

A Sympathy Couer de Rose

I love this rose set, isn’t it gorgeous?  I couldn’t resist coloring it up when I got this beautiful image from Art Neko. The stamp is called Couer de Rose,  it even sounds fancy, right? I colored the Rose portion with a a Black dye based marker some white cardstock and let it dry.  I colored with Copic markers V20 and V25 and then took my Eggplant dye based marker and created some shading with some dots. I used my Copic Markers YG67 and YG63 for the stems.

I stamped the With Sympathy with Plum Ink. Once I was finished cutting the patterned paper and matting with plum ad turquoise cardstock, I added some Stardust Stickles to the top portion. To finish the card off, I added some purple feathers and a Prima flower.

Check out all of the gorgeous Rose images available HERE.  Aren’t they beautiful?  Thank you for stopping by! Enjoy your week!

Hang In There with Fabric Paper

Whimsical and Kind Sayings

Hey Everyone, Welcome to the Art Neko Galleries. Today’s project uses Art Neko’s beautiful fabric papers and a Hang in there Sentiment. On this project, I took white cardstock and sponged yellow and orange across the entire piece. I layered adhesive across the colorful cardstock and adhered the White and Silver Fabric paper to the background and set it aside to dry.  While that was drying, I layered it to white and tangerine cardstock. Meanwhile, using white Embossing powder, I heat embossed the Hang in there, from the Whimsical and Kind Sayings on black cardstock and adhered it to the card layers.

I am thrilled to announce that the talented Holly Brown is Featured Stamper over at Splitcoaststampers this week. I decided to CASE a few of her projects   this one  and this one. The guidelines to play along in a CASE is we are supposed to choose a card and change 2 or more things on the  project. It could be a color combo, embellishments, backgrounds, or even the main image could be different — but similar because you don’t own the exact image. Please list the changes you made in your description.

I hope you enjoyed my project! Thank you for stopping by! Be sure to come by tomorrow to see what Holly has in store for you. If this is your first time here, scroll back to see the other designs from our talented Team!

Little Ms. Mouse

Little Ms. Mouse take Her Daily Bath in Bubbles

Hello Everyone – This is Chrissy D here! I have fallen in love with these adorable Mouse/ Tea images! This  Little Ms. Mouse takes her daily bath in bubbles  set was SO much fun to color! I used my Copic Markers and colored on my White Cardstock after stamping the image with Black Memento ink. Once I finished coloring the image, I used a Scor-pal and created an embossed line to frame the image. Using the stamp Whimsical and Kind Sayings, I used a water based marker and colored the Thinking of you image, one word at a time to “stack it” as it would not fit across the page the way it was designed.

I will often use a general statement image like Thinking of you, because I know I can grab it for nearly any occasion. However, I do confess, that I am AWFUL at actually mailing my cards. I tend to hoard them in my craft room, then if a friend comes over, I ask her to take a stack home so I can create more and not have extras lying about. Are you like that?

To finish my card, I used light Blue Nuvo drops and black gems along the bottom. These gems are some of my favorites! Just the right embellishment for nearly any project. Thank you for stopping by and taking a peek!

Bold Birds

Hello Everyone! Today, I decided to try something different with the State Birds stamp set. I was looking around and thought I would challenge myself to an Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoast Stampers. The challenge I decided upon was napkins. Yep. I decided to live dangerously, I know!

This is the picture of the Inspiration piece I took from:

I decided to go with the Color combination AND the circular motion of the plate and floral design.

State Birds

I stamped the State Birds stamp set  FIVE times on White card stock. I used sponge daubers and a bold yellow and Navy ink to add the shading. I cut those and matted them on Navy Cardstock. I then cut a gold ring using a circle cutter using my Circle Nestibilities. I sponged the edges and then alternating space, I looped it through and under alternating rectangles. I then had a Words die cut and cut out the Thanks to finish all of the pieces of the card front and matted it on Black card stock. The base of the card stock measures 5″ x 7″ folded (10″x7″ before it is folded), so I will need a n A7 size envelope.

To finish the card, I cut out the 5th image of the bird and mounted it on top of the circle, using some pop dots to create some dimension with the bird.

Thank you for taking the time to look!
