Grape celebration

For today’s card I have been playing with the Asian Woman Picking Grapes stamp. For the background  I used a technique called Shaped Stencil Technique by the Technique Junkies. You find the tutorial HERE.

The card is started with making the stencil shaped background, before adding the stamp. For that I used my misti, so to be sure that the stamped image would come out right. Then I colored the Asian Woman with pencil and added a sentiment that is cut out with a thinlit. I cut it out twice: one black and one in the color of the base of the card. Thanks for looking, hope you like it. Have a creative day!

Spring is around the corner

Hello! Hetty here and some of you know I live in The Netherlands, country of the bulbs, All around me the bulbs are popping their heads out of the ground and looking so festive.

So I choose this Iris stamp for my card today. If you are not a coloring person, this is a perfect stamp. Only a little coloring on the flower with aquarel pencils. With a strip of beautiful paper of a thousand wishes (great for birthday cards!) and a yellow paper behind the stamed image this card needs hardly anything else.

To make this card a little more bling, I added a few shiny sequins to this card. This image is great for quick cards. Hope you are inspired and get your fingers inky too. Have a wonderful creative day!

Chocolate Tulip

Hi, it’s Holly posting today.  I was coloring some of these tulip images, and I wanted to see how it looked in shades of chocolate as opposed to the normal pinks, reds, and yellows.  I stamped this gorgeous Boxed Tulip with some kraft ink onto kraft cardstock.  Then I pulled out my Prismacolor pencils and started coloring with a dark chocolate, a milk chocolate, and a white chocolate pencil.  Yum!  Are you hungry yet?

I love the stark modern look of the chocolate tulip, so I went for a similar bold modern look for my card.  I adhered the chocolate tulip to a dark chocolate card.  Three chocolate pearls were affixed to the lower left corner of the card, and then I added some strips of kraft cardstock to the left and the bottom of the card.  My final touch was to tie some chocolate ribbon around the top of the card.

Did you see what Kia did with this same Boxed Tulip stamp last week?  Isn’t that beautiful?  There are so many ways to use this gorgeous tulip stamp.  I love how Kia colored her stamp and misted it with water before pressing it onto the paper.  That’s a stunning watercolor look.  You could also stamp the tulip and paint it with watercolors instead of using colored pencils.

Hello! Hetty here and wishing you all a very Happy Thanksgiving. As I did not have any special Thanksgiving images, I thought I make this card with children. The family is important on this holiday and children always make it even more festive. The image of the boy came on a little bag that Annette has put into my package. So i cut it and used it in the baclkground of the card. The little girl is from a sheet called Koi and Asian Women. I colored it with pencil and added 3 little gemstones. The border is also from the little red bags. I can always make this into a children’s birthday card or for a new born.

Wishing you all a very happy and special celebration!

Wedding Anniversary

Wedding Anniversary

Hello Hetty here, sharing a wedding anniversary card with you that I made for a friend. This card is not a normal card, but called a box frame card.I made them before and have a tutorial on my own Craftchaos Blog that you can find here.

The images I used to make this card are The Embrace, and the flowers are on a sheet called Fun and Japanese Vintage images. Inside the box I stamped the couple with black ink and colored it with pencils. Then around the couple various flowers are stamped and cut out and taped down with foam tape. In the heart of the flowers sticky pearls (red) and gemstones are added. Also the girl has some jewels in her hair.

Here you see how this box card can stand up. Inside you can add your writing. It is a 6 x 6 inch frame. On the frame there are punched out flowers and the same from inside the frame. The Best day sentiment can be found here. The leaves are made with a sizzix die and on top you find a golden ribbon. More glittery gemstones in the heart of the flowers. Thank you for looking and have a creative day!

Paper Hugs, Hetty
